S2E4: The Dog Guide & The Dog Guide San Antonio - Amy Lynn Johnson, Founder & CEO

Episode Summary

Amy Lynn is the founder of The Dog Guide San Antonio, and the creative tinkerer behind Maker Mama. A San Antonio resident for nearly 25 years, Amy grew up on the NW side of town, and has called the SE side home for over 10 years. A single mom of four, Amy will be sharing her journey of recreating the meaning of home through divorce, road tripping, and life as a dog mom. She's a creative, mama, podcast junkie (and former podcaster), and San Antonio girl. Most days you can find her working from coffee shops or her fave coworking space. She started what eventually evolved into the Maker Mama blog and brand back in 2009 when she became a stay-at-home mom and needed a creative outlet. She's mostly known for taking thrift store finds and repurposing them into imaginative DIY projects. Along with DIY-ing all the things, she DIY-ed her website, photography, and social media presence and geek out on things like SEO and analytics. Since her online adventures began, she has grown her business organically from hobby blogger to full-time social media consultant. Now, she serves small business owners and entrepreneurs who struggle with wearing all the hats in their business, and need help streamlining their social media management. She helps them conquer their own DIY Digital Presence through workshops, coaching, and online presence reviews. Nothing makes her happier in my work than helping other bootstrapping entrepreneurs put their best foot forward on social. As a blogger, she has been featured on Apartment Therapy, MAKE, Buzzfeed DIY, CRAFT, BlogHer, and PBS Crafts for Kids, and have partnered with numerous brands including Martha Stewart, KIA, Nintendo, Lego, HP, and Goodwill.
